AfroDost is an independent publication launched in August 2026. Dost is Hindi and Urdu for "friend" — that's the whole idea behind this site.
AfroDost exists for one specific relationship: Africans building businesses in India, and Indians building businesses in Africa. Not general news about either place — practical, specific guidance for people actually doing the work of building something across this relationship.
We cover four things:
- Business & Operations — registering a company, opening a bank account, hiring your first employee, and the country-specific realities of doing business across African markets
- Design & Branding — practical visual identity and marketing guidance for businesses working across both markets
- Legal & Immigration — visas, PAN cards, OCI status, and immigration realities, explained plainly, with honest pointers to real professionals when it matters
- Current Developments — policy changes and trade news, but only the kind that actually affects someone building a business here, not general headlines
We write for people who need this information to actually do something with it — not for search engines, and not to sound impressive. If something in an article is genuinely uncertain or still settling as law or policy, we say so, rather than pretending otherwise.
AfroDost is currently written and run by one person, not a large team. If you have a question, a correction, or something you think we should cover, reach out — a real person reads it.
If you subscribe, you'll get new articles delivered by email as they're published. Nothing more promised than that, for now — as the site grows, so will what a subscription actually includes.
